The Front Street Animal Shelter Fundraising Foundation is led by experienced professionals and dedicated Front Street Animal Shelter volunteers who are deeply committed to strengthening animal welfare in Sacramento. Our board combines business leadership, legal expertise, operational experience, and hands-on volunteer service to ensure strong stewardship and meaningful impact.

Patty Manako
President
Patty brings several years of experience managing and leading organizations, and in identifying and capturing new business for continued business growth. She has extensive expertise in risk management and strategic planning. Patty has experience setting up new companies and joint ventures, building strong teams and collaborative partnerships. She is a leader who values giving back to the community and has a strong passion for animal welfare. Patty actively volunteers at the Front Street Animal Shelter as an experienced dog handler and shelter ambassador. She has a strong passion for dogs and is dedicated to raising funds for the shelter and leading a capital campaign to support future infrastructure needs. Patty has one rescue dog and enjoys travelling, playing the piano, and spending time with her family.

Daniel Summers
Vice President
Danny is a retired nurse who now spends his free time volunteering at the Front Street Animal Shelter. He loves training new volunteers, working with the dogs as an animal handler, and working as a shelter ambassador at events. He has spent the past two years falling in love with the animals, staff, volunteers, and community who have given their all to give the animals the best they can. With the city in a deficit and the shelter in great need of funds, Danny pledges to do all in his power to raise funds, awareness, and hope for the shelter and the amazing animals that come through its doors. He strongly believes every adopted pet, spay and neuter, vaccine, and reunited pet is a step in the right direction.

Steve Shin
Secretary
Steve brings his knowledge of the law to the board from his experience as an attorney. Steve is extremely thorough and organized, supporting the success for an organization to meet its objectives. Steve has been a volunteer with Front Street Animal Shelter for more than a few years, supporting roles as a experienced dog handler and dog adoption counselor. Steve has a passion for dogs, especially the larger breeds, and has an 85-pound American Bully at home. When he is not volunteering, Steve enjoys playing volleyball or reading statutes and bills.

David Garcia
Treasurer
David has many years of experience as a leader and manager in the defense industry, resulting in his resolve to have a clear vision and to exceed goals. David is an advocate for animal welfare and supports the Front Street Animal Shelter staff and volunteer base. He has a passion for dogs and has 2 rescue dogs, one recently adopted from Front Street. David is committed to supporting the nonprofit's financial goals and will continue to build a strong partnership with the shelter and the nonprofit. David enjoys coaching softball, golfing, and time with his wife and three children, and of course, walking his two rescue dogs.

Tanya Lechner
Board Member
Tanya brings 28 years of experience in radio advertising with a strong background in commercial scheduling, operational oversight, and team leadership. Her career reflects a commitment to organization, collaboration, and clear communications; skills that support effective stewardship, strategic planning, and mission-driven work in the nonprofit sector.
A dedicated advocate for shelter animals, Tanya is an active volunteer at Front Street Animal Shelter, where she has firsthand experience with the daily challenges facing municipal shelters. Her volunteer focus includes providing support and enrichment for large-breed dogs, and she is deeply committed to supporting programs that impact medical care, adoption, enrichment, and community outreach. Tanya is passionate about increasing adoptions, foster participation, and community engagement, and believes in practical, hands-on solutions that help shelters save more lives and better serve the community.

She shares her home with two rescue cats and values teamwork, transparency, and service through active and engaged board involvement.

Amanda Duncan
Board Member
Amanda is a lifelong animal lover who firmly believes that every animal deserves compassion, care, and kindness. With years of dedicated support for animal rescue and advocacy organizations, she has witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of community-driven efforts in saving and improving animal lives. Amanda is deeply inspired by Front Street Animal Shelter's remarkable achievements, including consistently high monthly adoption rates, a thriving foster community, robust volunteer programs, and vital homeless outreach initiatives. She is excited about supporting the nonprofit's fundraising commitment to transparency, sustainable support for the shelter, and a capital campaign to help with future infrastructure facility needs and support expanding critical services for animals at risk in the community. As a board member, Amanda is eager to contribute her passion, experience, and dedication to help advance these goals, ensuring even more animals receive the second chances they deserve.
